The gatehouse has rounded towers with small arched windows and a central arched passage at ground level. In front of the structure there is a water channel and a wooden construction of planks, beams, and temporary railings leading toward the foreground. Scattered construction materials and stone blocks are visible near the water, and portions of fencing and a small building appear beside the gatehouse. The sky is pale and overcast, and the overall image has a faded, aged appearance.
