The front-facing man has sideburns and a sash across his chest with small gold buttons on his coat and ornate red shoulder decorations, while the rear-facing man carries a large black backpack with rolled bedding strapped on top, a long rifle slung over his shoulder, and a sword in a scabbard at his side; their hands are clasped together. In the background on the water there is a sailing ship with multiple masts.
