To the left, lower buildings with pitched roofs and a domed tower sit adjacent to the cathedral, connected by a wall and gate leading into a courtyard. Small groups of people are depicted walking or standing in the open space in front of the cathedral, and a dog is visible on the ground. The sky is filled with horizontal engraving lines and an ornamental cartouche with a shield and decorative surround appears near the upper right. The composition is monochrome with fine line work and shading throughout.
