Behind the garden a dense cityscape of tightly packed buildings, rooftops, steeples, and windmills extends toward the horizon, with boats and waterfront structures visible to the right. The upper margin features a decorative cartouche with cherubs, a crowned coat of arms, and draped banners, and the sky is filled with horizontal shaded lines. The foreground below the gateway shows a busy street scene with carriages, horses, and many people gathered, some in groups and some walking. The engraving is monochrome with finely hatched shading and detailed line work throughout.
