In the foreground a rocky, uneven path winds past scattered trees and shrubs, with small groups of people walking and sitting among the rocks and vegetation. Near the center a large stone church with a steep roof dominates the scene, surrounded by numerous houses and smaller structures. To the left a formal garden with radiating paths and geometric beds lies beside a fortified complex with tall, ornate towers. To the right a tall cylindrical tower with a conical roof stands near a large leafy tree on a raised area overlooking the town. The sky above is filled with fine engraved cloudwork and flocks of birds, and decorative heraldic cartouches appear in the upper portion of the image. The overall image is rendered in detailed line work and stippling typical of an old engraved print.
