Together with four other series, it forms the large series: 'Il nuovo teatro di Roma moderna'., square, circus, church (exterior), city-view, and landscape with man-made constructions, Santa Maria in Campitelli, A wide architectural engraving shows a large ornate church façade with columns, statues, pediments, and decorative stonework, flanked by adjoining buildings with rows of windows and cornices; a domed tower rises at the left behind the church while a multi-story palazzo with a balcony and chimney stacks extends along the right side. In the open square in front of the church there is a circular fountain with sculptural elements and standing water, and small groups of people in period clothing are scattered across the plaza walking and conversing. The sky above is filled with etched clouds and the ground is rendered with paving and subtle shading; additional smaller buildings and architectural details appear in the background between the main facades.
