Together with four other series it forms the large series: 'Il nuovo teatro di Roma moderna'., harbour, river, hospital, city-view, and landscape with man-made constructions, Tiber, Porto di Ripa Grande, Ospizio di San Michele a Ripa Grande, A wide ink engraving shows a waterfront scene with a row of large classical buildings along a quay, each with multiple stories, tiled roofs, rows of windows, and architectural details such as balconies and staircases. In front of the buildings a stepped embankment and a stone wall meet the water, with trees and small groups of people scattered along the promenade and near entrances. Several sailing vessels and rowboats occupy the water, some with tall masts and furled sails and one with a decorative covered canopy being rowed by figures. Small figures on the shore carry goods, push carts, and gather near boats and ramps, while others stroll along the quay or stand in conversation. The sky is filled with fine horizontal line shading and a few soft cloud shapes, and the composition is framed by a thin border with a narrow marg
