Denarius of Pescennius Niger (ca. 135–194; Roman emperor 193–194). Obverse: Head of Pescennius Niger in a laurel wreath facing right, legend IMP CAES CP·ESCE NIGER. Reverse: Jupiter seated on a throne facing left; in his right hand he holds Victoria standing on a globe, in his left a scepter, legend IOVI P·RAE OR. Date: 193–194 CE. Place: Antioch on the Orontes, Roman Empire. Coin; diameter 16.5–18.0 mm, weight 2.40 g, axis 180°.
