Denarius of Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180). Obverse: Head of Marcus Aurelius with laurel wreath to the right, inscription ONINVS AVG - AR, VS all around. Reverse: Personification of Armenia in a short robe, trousers and a pointed cap, seated to the left; in front of her a shield and a standard (vexillum); she supports her head with her right hand and rests her left hand on a bow and a quiver; inscription RP XVIII IMP II COS III. Iconography includes personification of Armenia, bows, quivers, shields, and vexillum. Roman Empire, dated 163–164. Coin (silver): diameter 16.5–17.0 mm, weight 2.80 g, axis 15°.
