Denarius of Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180). Obverse: Head of Marcus Aurelius with a laurel wreath to the right, inscription 'ONIN AVG - ARMENIACVS' (all around). Reverse: Personification of Armenia seated to the left in a short robe, trousers and a pointed cap, supporting her head with her right hand and resting her left on a bow and quiver; in front of her a shield and a standard (vexillum); inscription 'PM TR P XVIII IMP II COS III' and episode/legend 'ARMEN.' Date: 163–164. Rome, Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin; silver denarius; weight 3.10 g; diameter 16.5–17.0 mm; axis 0°.
