Denarius, posthumous issue for Faustina the Elder (98–141; Roman empress 138–141); issuer: Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: Bust of Faustina I in drapery facing right, inscribed DIVA FAV-STINA. Reverse: Vesta standing left, holding a statuette of Athena (palladium) in her left hand and a patera in her right above an altar, inscribed A VGV-S, A around. Iconography: Roman deities, Vesta; attributes: palladium, patera, altars. After 141, Rome, Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin: silver denarius; diameter 16.0–17.0 mm; weight 3.30 g; axis 180°.
