Denarius of Lucius Verus (130–169; Roman emperor 161–169) and Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180), struck posthumously for Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: head of Antoninus Pius without a covering facing right, legend 'DIVV ANTONINVS' (circumferential). Reverse: eagle stands on an altar to the right, turns its head left, legend 'CONSECRATIO' (circumferential). Iconography: Antoninus Pius, eagle, altar. Date: after 161. Place: Rome, Roman Empire.
