Sestertius (with a hole), Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman Emperor 138–161), issuer. Obverse: Head of Antoninus Pius with a laurel wreath facing right, inscription 'ANTONINVS AVG PIVS PP TRP XXII'. Reverse: Emperor in toga and veil standing left, holding a patera above a tripod with a bull reclining behind it, and a scroll in his left hand; inscription 'VOTA SOL' (with 'COS IIII' in section and 'SC' in fields). Iconography: bulls, emperor with a veil, tripods, paterae. Date: 158–159. Culture/place: Roman Empire, Rome. Object type/material: coin (sestertius).
