Sestertius, Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161), issuer; personifications; iconography: head of the emperor in a laurel wreath; pileus (attribute) of Libertas. Obverse: Head of Antoninus Pius in a laurel wreath to the right, inscription ANTONINVS AVG PIVS, all around. Reverse: Libertas stands frontally, head turned to the right, in her right hand she holds a liberation cap (pileus), her left hand stretched out in front of her, inscription LIBE I (all around), in the fields SC. Date: 153–154. Culture/place: Roman Empire, Rome. Object type: coin (sestertius). Measurements: diameter 31.0–32.0 mm, weight 21.25 g, axis 30°.
