Bracteate, c. 1135–1138. Silver coin (diameter 24.9–26.8 mm, weight 0.63 g). Romanesque. Obverse: In a pearl border, on the left, facing right, a kneeling prince (Boleslaw III Wrymouth) shown in profile with hands outstretched toward a standing bishop (St. Adalbert). The bishop, dressed in liturgical vestments, holds a crosier in his left hand and rests his right hand on the prince's head — gesture of protection. Around the rim in a linear border: inscription +SZREBADSBOLEZLAV. Iconography: Boleslaw III Wrymouth; St. Adalbert; bishop, crosier, crosier posts; kneeling prince; martyrs. Culture: Middle Ages; Poland (Gniezno/Kraków).
