Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138), Romanesque style, ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the upside-down jaws of a dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms a ball; between the arms one ball (two of them have one dot). Iconography: knight, chain mail, spear/spearhead, dragon, jaws, equal-armed cross, martyrs, fight against pagans/good vs. evil, St. Adalbert. Coin; diameter 12.6–12.9 mm; weight 0.56 g.
