Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086/1107–1138). Obv.: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Rv.: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (two of them with one dot each); between its arms, one ball (two of them with one dot each; possibly also on the other two—observation prevented by under-striking). Equal-armed cross, spearhead (issue mark), chain mail, crosses, jaws, knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragons, Middle Ages, knights, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, Adalbert (St.; ca. 956–997), spears. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 12.3–12.6 mm; weight 0.56 g.
