Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1107–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon — allegory of the fight between good and evil / fight against pagans; associations with St. Adalbert (ca. 956–997) and martyrs. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (two with one dot each); a ball with one dot between each arm. Romanesque style. Spear(s), crosses, dragons, knights motifs. Coin, Poland, Kraków, ca. 1125–1138. Denomination: denarius. Diameter: 12.4–13.0 mm. Weight: 0.58 g.
