Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; reign 1107–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball. Iconography: knight (martyr/Adalbert), dragons, fight against pagans, spears; Romanesque style. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Medium: coin. Diameter: 11.8–12.1 mm. Weight: 0.43 g. Maker/inscription: Jastrzebowski, Stanislaw (1898–1980) noted spearhead (issue mark).
