Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (Prince of Poland; 1107–1138). Obverse: in the linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (one dot on each); between its arms, one ball (three of them have one dot; the fourth may also have one but is obscured by under-striking). Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, jaws, knight, dragon, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, martyrs; Romanesque style. Associated names/figures: Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997). Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Object: coin (denarius). Diameter: 11.3–11.8 mm. Weight: 0.46 g.
