Caption
Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (Prince of Poland; reign 1107–1138). c. 1125–1138. Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail driving a spearhead into the mouth of an upside-down dragon; under the knight's right elbow an isosceles cross with arms terminating in balls. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross terminating in balls with a ball at the intersection of the arms; between the arms are single balls (three of them with one dot); on one arm, closer to the center, a crossbar; one arm intersects the other at approximately 1/3 of its length. Iconography: crosses, isosceles cross, spearhead issue mark, chain mail. Coin; Poland, Kraków. Diameter 12.2–12.6 mm; weight 0.45 g.
