Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1107–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an inverted dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms, a ball; between the arms, one ball. Iconography: allegories, crosses, spearhead (issue mark), chain mail, jaws, knight, martyrs, dragon, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, spear; Romanesque style; Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997).
