Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, a ball (one shows a dot; others partially visible from under-striking). Iconography: chain mail, spearhead, jaws, equal-armed cross, knights, dragon, fight against pagans, fight between good and evil, martyrs; Romanesque style; Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997). Date ca. 1125–1138. Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 12.1–12.5 mm; weight 0.35 g.
