Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; r. 1107–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the upside-down jaws of a dragon (fight between good and evil / fight against pagans; Martyr Adalbert referenced iconographically). Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms, a ball; additional balls between the arms. Allegories, equal-armed cross, spearhead (issue mark), crosses, chain mail, knight, dragons; Romanesque style. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Coin. Diameter 12.1–12.4 mm. Weight 0.34 g.
