Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1125–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (three of them have one dot each; the fourth is unclear); a dot at the crossing of the arms; a single sun between them. Romanesque style; iconography includes knight, dragon, spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, martyrs, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; reference to Saint Adalbert. Coin, Poland, Kraków; diameter 12.6–12.9 mm; weight 0.60 g.
