Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138). Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (three of them have one dot each; the fourth may as well—observation difficult due to wear). A dot at the crossing of the arms. Between them, one sun. Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, jaws, knight, martyrs, dragons; themes of Romanesque style, Middle Ages, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), fight between good and evil, fight against pagans. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Coin; diameter 12.6–12.9 mm; weight 0.60 g.
