Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1125–1138). Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the mouth of an upside-down dragon with a stylized tail. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (two of them have one dot each; the others are unclear due to blurring); additional ball between its arms. Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, martyrs, knight, dragons, mouth, dragon, knights, mouths, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), fight against pagans, spear, fight between good and evil. Style: Romanesque; date ca. 1125–1138; place: Kraków, Poland. Coin (denarius), diameter 13.0–13.6 mm, weight 0.37 g.
