Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1107–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon; a dot above the knight's left foot (outer side). Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls, with one ball between its arms. Iconography: allegories, spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, jaws, knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragon, fight against pagans, Adalbert (Saint), spear, fight between good and evil. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Coin; diameter 12.2 mm, weight 0.39 g.
