Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138), ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: in beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the upside-down jaws of a dragon — allegorical fight between good and evil / fight against pagans; imagery references Saint Adalbert and martyrs, Romanesque style. Reverse: in triple beaded border, an isosceles (equal-armed) cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms a ball; one arm intersects the other at approximately one-third of its length; additional dots/balls between arms. Material: coin; diameter 12.5–12.9 mm; weight 0.54 g. Kraków, Poland.
