Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1107–1138). Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of a dragon turned upside down; a dot above the knight's left foot. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an equal-armed (isosceles) cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball (one of them has a dot). Romanesque style; allegorical imagery referencing martyrs, Adalbert (Saint; ca. 956–997), and the fight between good and evil/pagans. Issue mark: spearhead. Date ca. 1125–1138. Mint: Kraków, Poland. Coin; diameter 12.4–12.6 mm; weight 0.47 g.
