Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138), ca. 1125–1138. Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms, a ball; between the arms, one ball. Iconography: knight, chain mail, spearhead, dragon, equal-armed cross, martyrs, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; Romanesque style; attribution to St. Adalbert referenced. Coin; Poland, Kraków. Diameter 12.3–12.7 mm; weight 0.42 g.
