denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1086–1138), Romanesque style, c. 1125–1138. Obverse: in the beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon; motifs include equal-armed cross, chain mail, crosses, spearhead (issue mark), knight, dragons, mouths, Adalbert (St.; ca. 956–997), fight between good and evil, fight against pagans. Reverse: in the triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with crossbars; between its arms radiate two spheres (smaller ones closer to the center, larger ones each with a single dot). Coin; Poland, Kraków. Diameter 12.7–12.9 mm; weight 0.65 g.
