Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland, c. 1107–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the upside-down jaws of a dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (two with one dot each); a dot at the crossing of the arms; between the arms, one sun (two with one dot each). Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragons, jaws, fight between good and evil, spear, fight against pagans, Saint Adalbert (ca. 956–997). Date: c. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin (denarius). Diameter: 13.1–13.8 mm. Weight: 0.72 g.
