Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1125–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one small ball near the center and a sun nearer the ends. Iconography: allegories, knight, dragons/dragon, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans, spear/spearhead, crosses, chain mail, martyrs, jaws, Adalbert (St. ca. 956–997). Style: Romanesque, Middle Ages. Coin; Poland, Kraków. Diameter: 11.9–12.6 mm. Weight: 0.62 g. State of preservation: very good.
