Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; reign 1107–1138). Obverse: within a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: within a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; one ball between its arms. Iconography: spearhead, equal-armed cross, chain mail, crosses, knight, dragon, fight of good against evil, martyrs, fight against pagans; Romanesque style; references St. Adalbert. Date ca. 1125–1138. Poland, Kraków. Coin. Diameter: 12.2–13.0 mm. Weight: 0.46 g.
