Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; ca. 1086–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; between its arms, one ball. Iconography: equal-armed cross, chain mail, crosses, jaws, spearhead (issue mark), knight, martyrs, Romanesque style, dragons, Adalbert (St.; ca. 956–997), the fight between good and evil/the fight against pagans. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin; diameter 13.4–13.8 mm; weight 0.61 g.
