Lithuanian half-thaler (mezzo ducato with countersignature), Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572), countersignature by Ravaschiero, Giovanni Battista (fl. 1525–1560), publisher; mezzo ducato attributed to Philip II Habsburg (King of Naples and Sicily; 1554–1598). Numismatic countermarks; Jagiellonians (dynasty). Obverse: male bust in armour turned right, dividing at the bottom an inscription in the rim: .PHILIP.R.ANG.FR.NEAP.PR.HISP; left in the coin field the mintmaster's mark: a tied monogram composed of the letters IBR Rw. Crowned oval multi-field decorative coat of arms with rim inscription divided at the top: .POPVLOR SECVRITATI. Reverse: countersignature of King Sigismund Augustus: in the rim under the crown a tied monogram composed of the letters SA divides the year 15-64 (1554–1560/1564).
