Lithuanian 6-coin forgery of Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland; 1544–1572), counterfeit creator unknown. Obverse: Crowned male bust in armor turned right, inscription around rim: .SIGIS.AVG.DGREX.POLO.MAG.DVX.LITVA. Reverse: Under the ducal mitre a shield with the Lithuanian Pahonia and the year 1547, flanked by the value number V - I, inscription around rim: GROSS.AR.SEXDVP.MAG.DVCAT9.LITVAN. Related to Jagiellonians (dynasty), Pogon (coat of arms; Lithuania); themes: royal busts, male busts, coats of arms, forgeries. For original: Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Poland. Date: 1547/before 1879. Coin (counterfeit). Diameter ~27.4–27.8 mm; weight 4.87 g.
