Denarius of Commodus (Caesar 175–177; Roman emperor 177–192) issued under Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180). Obverse: bust of young Commodus draped, uncovered, facing right with legend 'COMMOD C'. Reverse: Commodus in military attire standing left, holding a branch in his right hand and a long scepter in his left; to his right a trophy and a round shield. Iconography: branches, scepters, trophies, shields. Roman Empire, 175. Coin: diameter 17.5–18.5 mm, weight 2.60 g, axis 180°.
