Obverse: In the border a male bust in armor girded with a sash and wearing a wig, turned to the right, divides the inscription in the rim D.G.ERNEST.IO. Reverse: Under the ruler's mitre separating the inscription in the rim two coats of arms with the White Eagle and the Pogon (Pursuit), below a numeral of value 3 under which the letters .IF; in the rim .DVC.CVRLAND. - 1765. Trojak by Jan Fryderyk Schmickert (fl. 1764–1765), depicting Ernest Jan Biron (Duke of Courland and Semigallia; 1690–1772). Coin from the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia, Mitawa; weight 1.39 g.
