Subject: Ernest Jan Biron (Duke of Courland and Semigallia; 1690–1772) — iconography includes coats of arms, busts, White Eagle (coat of arms), Pursuit (coat of arms), princely and male busts, male portraits facing right, ruler's busts in ceremonial armor, shields; family: Biron. Obverse: in the border a male bust in armor girded with a sash and wearing a wig, facing right, separated by an inscription in the rim; on the right shoulder the letters S D.G.ERNEST.IOH.IN.LC&.S.DVX. Reverse: under the crowned mitre separating the inscription in the rim, two coats of arms with the Eagle and the Chaser, below the numeral of value 3 under which the letters MON.ARG, 1764.
