Denarius, Hadrian (76–138; Roman emperor 117–138). Obverse: Emperor's head with a laurel wreath to the right, inscription 'HADRIANVS AVG COS III PP'. Reverse: Salus standing left before an altar, holding a patera above the altar in her right hand and a sceptre in her left, inscription 'SALV SAVG'. Attributes: patera, sceptre. Iconography: imperial busts; Salus (personification) standing before the altar. Date: 134–138. Culture/place: Roman Empire, Rome. Medium: coin; weight 2.94 g; axis 180 degrees.
