Obverse: bust of the king with a crown, right profile, wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece, within a rope rim: IOAN.CAS.DGREX POL.& SUEC.MD. Reverse: coat of arms held by two lions, top wreath surrounding a flower, bottom cartouche dividing letters DL; in a corded rim: MON:AUREA CIVITAT.GEDANEN.1657. 1657. Poland, Gdansk. Coin, diameter 25 mm, weight 3.49 g., A single circular gold-colored coin fills most of the image, showing a textured metallic surface with raised decorative relief and an outer beaded edge; the design includes a central oval shield held by a pair of heraldic animals with flowing manes, ornate floral elements near the top, and a ring of raised inscriptions around the perimeter; visible colors are gold and subtle variations in yellow and darker gold tones against a plain white background.
