The Grand Cross of the Order of the Polish Canonesses of Warsaw, an equal-armed cross with a grand baroque artistic form, the arms forming the axes of a four-field coat of arms of the Republic of Poland. The spaces between the arms, enclosed by arabesque connectors, form fields containing openwork coats of arms of the Crown and Lithuania, the Eagle, and the Tail alternately placed heraldically. At the center on the obverse is a movable, hinged shield-shaped plaque with the Korczak coat of arms on an amaranth enamel background; the plaque has two small holes at top and bottom for pegs and the reverse of the plaque contains remnants of enamel. Beneath the plaque is an oval reliquary containing remains of St. Adelaide. On the reverse at the intersection of the arms is a plaque with the image of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception on a blue background. The cross is topped with an openwork crown with a suspension ring. Dated 1744, Poland.
