Crown double ducat, maker: Croll, Ernest Dietrich (fl. 1753–1763). Issued under August III the Saxon (King of Poland, 1733–1763; Elector of Saxony, 1696–1763), 1754. Obverse: Crowned bust of the king in right profile, legend 'D.G.AUGUSTUS.III.REX.POLONIARUM'. Reverse: Under a crown, a five-field shield with the Polish, Lithuanian and Saxon coats of arms; at the bottom the letters 'EDC' and inscription 'SAC.ROM.IMP.ARCHIM. ET ELECT.1754'. Coin (Poland/Leipzig), diameter 27 mm, weight 6.92 g., A round metallic coin with a warm golden color showing a raised profile of a crowned figure facing right, with detailed curly hair and ornate clothing, including a cloak and decorative armor elements; the crown has ornate embellishments and the coin edge is ridged, with a smooth background surface that shows some fine scratches and slight variations in tone.
