Lithuanian obol of Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland, 1544–1572), Jagiellonian dynasty. Silver coin (obol) from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, struck in Vilnius, 1547. Obverse: in the rim under the ducal mitre a tied monogram composed of the letters S A Rw; in the rim a shield with the Columns of Gediminas coat of arms, above the shield the date 1547. Heraldic shields, tied monograms. Diameter ca. 11.6–12.5 mm; weight 0.31 g.
