Red-figure pelike, Attic workshop, pelike (vessel), antique vessel, pink clay. Slightly matte black engobe. Some elements painted white. Pelike with a slender belly. Wide neck, widening upwards. The rim is rolled outward and decorated with a frieze (ox-eyes). Two bipartite handles are attached vertically below the rim, extending to the gently sloping shoulders. On either side of the body, two scenes are bounded at the top and bottom by a frieze of the ox-eyes type. Kerch style. Scene A: A woman's head turned to the right, wearing a Phrygian cap; the cap edge is marked with a black line with elongated points. The face and neck are painted white. In the background on the right, a horse protoma is visible, and on the left, the front part of a griffin. Scene B: Two male figures facing each other, wrapped in long cloaks; facial features unmarked. Preservation status: partially reconstructed rim. 2nd half of the 4th century BC, Attica. Vessel: pelike. Height 29.9 cm, width 13.1 cm.
