Japon collé (chine collé) — thin cream paper glued over its entire surface onto thin white slightly glossy cardboard; the paper is wavy at the top and not glued at the bottom left. Drawing made with very soft chalk, chalk laid flat; visible impression of the aluminum plate. Description: male portrait of a peasant — characteristic, serious male head portrayed carefully and up close; effects include bolder accents, more mobile shadows, emphasis on a dynamically shaded foreground formed by a strip of transparent clods of earth marked flat with chalk. Wyczólkowski prepared the papers himself. 1911, Kraków. Graphic print; height 20 cm, width 28 cm.
