Depicts Pius VII (1740–1823); biographical details included in the image text: son of Count Scipio and Marchioness Giovanna Chini; became a cardinal in 1785 and took over the diocese of Imola; noted for building churches, hospitals, and colleges; had good relations with Polish legionnaires in Imola; elected pope in 1800; concluded a concordat with France in 1801 and participated in Napoleon's coronation in 1804; reactivated the Jesuit Order on August 7, 1814.
