Hillemacher lists five states of this engraving; Franke three. Smolik: 'Beautiful copies of this engraving on thick white paper... they represent the last two states of the engraving, between which there are slight differences and concern the last small needle strokes, and in one copy retouching with a brush in Chinese ink.' Date ca. 1776–1777. Medium: print, graphic matrix/plate. Dimensions: height 18.8 cm, width 17.0 cm, thickness 0.2 cm., A large rectangular artwork with a warm metallic palette of coppery orange, bronze, and pale gold tones showing a central robed figure standing with one arm raised, surrounded by a group of other figures in various poses; a seated figure draped in flowing fabric leans back near the central figure, while a few figures to the left wear layered garments and hats and gesture toward the scene; to the right several figures reach or lean forward, and a rounded wheel-like object and draped cloth appear near the upper right; architectural elements such as a tall column and angled beam form the background, and the surface shows textured shading and fine engraved lines that define faces, clothing folds, and structural details against a muted gray border.
